With the start of the inaugural AUDL season, ultimate frisbee has entered into the scene of professional sports.
The American Ultimate Disc League is a professional ultimate frisbee league that just began play April 14, 2012. It features eight teams, including Kentucky’s own Bluegrass Revolution.
The Revolution, based in Lexington, KY, features some of the best players from the state of Kentucky and the region. The team has opened the season 2-0, winning its home opener against the Detroit Mechanix in comeback fashion 19-17 before going on the road and defeating the Indianapolis Alley Cats and YouTube frisbee sensation Brodie Smith by a 20-18 count.
The Revolution look to stay undefeated Saturday as the Columbus Cranes come to town. The game will start at 7 pm at Henry Clay High School Jack Bell Stadium.
